Look, 2021 was a time. We were waiting around to be eligible for the Covid-19 vaccine and going a little stir crazy. My solution to that was getting super back into Pokémon GO, an activity that I could enjoy with others in the relative safety of the outdoors. And then there was Bidoof. Somewhere in the madness of 2021, it was decided that there would be a Bidoof Day. This was a thing that happened. Yes, of course it was a marketing event, but still a strange and unexpected one. I think maybe in such a trying and stressful time, there was a part of all of us that needed a little Bidoof in our lives.

Anyway, there was a hat. Actually, there was a bunch of stuff, but the hat was kind of the stand out item among the Pokémon Center exclusive merch. The hat was also available in Pokémon GO as an in-game avatar item, in case you wanted to match your avatar (and of course I did).
