Alolan Vulpix was released as part of Build-A-Bear’s Pokémon line a year after its Kanto counterpart. Like the previous Vulpix plush, it was available as a stand-alone plush in store or as part of a bundle with two outfits and a sound box online. It came with a Build-A-Bear-branded Alolan Vulpix Pokémon card to use with the trading card game.

Since I only wanted the cape outfit, and that wasn’t limited to the online bundle this time around, I opted to get this one in person at my local mall shortly after it was released. I skipped out on the sound box and went with a berry scent instead, which smells absolutely fantastic. (I’m really sad that scent seems to have been discontinued since then, so I hope my Alolan Vulpix retains it as long as possible, even though they generally only last around a year.) The Pecha Berry wristie pictured above was an optional accessory that was sold separately.

While the plush was originally released in September 2018 and has been in and out of stock since then, as of February 2022, the online-exclusive bundle recently received a restock on the Bulid-A-Bear website.

Vulpix is my favorite Pokémon, so I’m a big fan of these two.

Building an Alolan Vulpix! Here are some photos from my September 2018 trip to Build-A-Bear to add this one to my collection. My local mall just has a Build-A-Bear kiosk in the middle of the mall rather than a full-sized Build-A-Bear store, so the selection was a little more limited, but they did have Alolan Vulpix when it released, and I made sure to stop by to get one ASAP!
